WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
The Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town has the privilege of working with some of the best conductors, orchestras, and soloists, and has inspired amateur singers and audiences for 50 years, combining musical excellence with creativity through its performances. The Choir contributes substantially to the musical culture of Cape Town, and often provides a platform from which young emerging soloists can launch their careers.
The Choir depends on the commitment of its approximately 130 talented singers, who come from all walks of life. We prepare up to four large performances a year, arrange smaller concerts, take part in volunteer and outreach events, and have recently released our first CD. What brings us together is a love of singing, and we wish to share our music with as many communities and people in Cape Town and beyond as possible.
However, much of what we do is costly. It costs a minimum of R200 000 to put on a single performance of a major choral work, including hiring the venue, the orchestra, and the soloists. Even smaller concerts are expensive, so we depend heavily on ticket sales, donations and sponsorships to meet our expenses.
Choir members themselves pay an annual membership fee to cover our basic running and rehearsal costs, but we depend on our supporters to help us maintain our financial independence and artistic freedom. Additional resources also help to ensure that the we are able to take part in community outreach projects and share our love of singing and music widely.

If you love choral music, want to help us contribute to the musical culture of our city, and would like to be more actively involved in following and supporting our annual programme, please consider becoming a Sponsor of the choir. As a Sponsor you will not only assist the choir financially, but also be treated as a VIP at our concerts.
In addition to complimentary concert tickets, Sponsors will be entitled to priority allocation of the best seats for our concerts, VIP refreshments during interval, complimentary concert programmes, and acknowledgement in our programmes, and Platinum Sponsors will be entitled to display their logos on our website.
There are three categories of sponsorship available for 2019:
Platinum Sponsors 12 concert tickets per year R 4,500 per year
Gold Sponsors 6 concert tickets per year R 2,250 per year
Copper Sponsors 2 concert tickets per year R 850 per year

If you have valued your association with The Philharmonia Choir, whether as a member of the choir or of the audience, you will appreciate how important it is that the choir continues to share the power of choral music with future generations. We would like to ensure that younger generations of singers and audience members are able to have similar experiences.
One way you can contribute to future music-loving generations is by leaving a bequest to The Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town in your will. You could put this in place through your own attorney, or, if you prefer, contact us and we will be glad to assist and put you in touch with an experienced attorney, connected to the choir, who can offer you professional assistance. Alternatively, here is a suggested wording that you could include in your will:
“I bequeath an amount of R_________________ (_______________ specify amount in words) to The Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town, a non-profit company with registration number 1972/000023/08.”

The Philharmonia Choir is available for corporate and private functions, as well as media/film productions. Live music is always exciting and creates an atmosphere for an event. Please contact us to enquire.
Our Mirrodex choir stands, or risers, are available for hire for your music performances. We offer a very affordable fee. Please contact us for more information.
We have a few designated spaces within our concert programmes that can be used to advertise your business. The fee will depend on the size and requirements of the advert, but our rates are very reasonable. This type of support assists us with our programme costs as well as increasing your exposure. Details for adverts should be submitted no later than three weeks prior to a concert. Please see this document for further information, and contact us to enquire further.
